Returns Policy

Effective from: 01 September 2026

I hope you will be delighted with your artwork. If, however, you change your mind about an artwork purchased online, you have the right to cancel your purchase without giving a reason.

You must tell me that you wish to cancel within 14 days after the day on which you, or a person nominated by you, receives the artwork.

Once you have notified me of your cancellation, you must return the artwork within a further 14 days.

To cancel an order, please contact:

Returns

Please return the artwork carefully and securely packaged. Where reasonably possible, I recommend reusing the packaging in which the artwork was delivered.

For a return because you have changed your mind, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning the artwork.

Many of my artworks are too large to be returned by ordinary post. The cost of an appropriate UK courier return will typically depend on the size and weight of the work and the collection location. For particularly large artworks, an estimated return cost in the UK may cost £50.

You are entitled to examine an artwork as you reasonably would before purchasing it in person. If the artwork has been handled beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish its nature and characteristics, and this has reduced its value, I may make an appropriate deduction from the refund where permitted by law.

Refunds

Following a valid cancellation, I will refund the amount paid using the original payment method.

I may withhold the refund until I have received the artwork back or you have supplied evidence that it has been sent back, whichever occurs first.

Refunds will be made within the period required by UK consumer law.

Damaged, faulty or incorrectly described artwork

If an artwork arrives damaged, is faulty or is materially different from its description, please contact me as soon as possible.

Where possible, please keep all packaging and provide photographs of both the artwork and the packaging, as these may be required when making a claim with the delivery company.

Where goods are faulty, damaged in transit or not as described, your statutory consumer rights apply. Reasonable return or redelivery costs will be met by me where required by law.

Commissioned and personalised artwork

The statutory change-of-mind cancellation right does not normally apply to artwork made specifically to your requirements or clearly personalised for you.

This exception applies only to genuinely commissioned or bespoke work. An original artwork that already existed before your order is not treated as bespoke merely because it is unique.

Your statutory rights in relation to faulty, damaged or incorrectly described goods are unaffected.

Terms of Service

Effective from: 1st September 2026

These Terms of Service apply to purchases made from Exmoor Coast Art through www.exmoorcoastart.co.uk.

Seller information

Exmoor Coast Art is operated by Timothy Williams.

Product information

I take reasonable care to describe and photograph each artwork accurately, including its medium and dimensions.

Colours displayed on computer, tablet and telephone screens can vary. The colour and appearance of the physical artwork may therefore differ slightly from its appearance on your screen.

Any frame, mount or other item shown in photographs is included only where the product description specifically states that it is included.

Original artworks are unique and, unless otherwise stated, only one example of each original artwork is available.

Prices

The price shown on the product page is the price charged for the artwork.

Price includes free insured UK delivery or the painting can be collected by arrangement from the studio. For orders outside the UK please contact me before purchasing using the contact form.

Exmoor Coast Art is not currently registered for VAT and VAT is not charged separately.

Orders outside the UK

The standard online delivery arrangement applies to UK addresses.

If you would like an artwork delivered outside the UK, please contact me before purchasing so that delivery arrangements, costs and any relevant customs or import requirements can be established.

Customers outside the UK may be responsible for import duties, taxes, customs charges or other fees imposed by their country.

Orders and payment

Payment must be made using one of the payment methods offered at checkout.

An order is subject to successful payment and availability of the artwork.

Because original artworks are unique and may occasionally also be offered for sale elsewhere, there is a small possibility that an artwork could become unavailable before the website has been updated.

If an artwork has already been sold, has become unavailable, or there has been an obvious error in its listing or price, I may cancel the order. If this happens, any payment received will be refunded in full.

Delivery

I will endeavour to dispatch artworks as soon as possible. Please allow 4 to 5 working days after payment has been received for dispatch.

This allows time for suitable protective packaging and an appropriate insured delivery service to be arranged.

If a different dispatch period applies to a particular artwork, this will be stated on the product page or agreed with you.

If an unexpected delay occurs, I will contact you.

UK delivery is included in the price of the artwork.

Delivery dates provided by carriers are estimates unless a specific delivery date has been expressly agreed.

Please ensure that the delivery address supplied with your order is complete and accurate.

Risk in the artwork passes to you when you, or a person nominated by you, receives physical possession of it.

Studio collection

An artwork may instead be collected by arrangement from the studio where this option is offered at checkout.

I will contact you to arrange a mutually convenient collection time.

Choosing collection does not alter the advertised purchase price of the artwork.

Cancellation and returns

Your cancellation and return rights are set out in the Returns Policy published on this website.

For ordinary artworks purchased online, you generally have 14 days after receiving the artwork in which to tell me that you wish to cancel your purchase.

Once you have notified me of cancellation, the artwork must normally be returned within a further 14 days.

The statutory change-of-mind cancellation right does not normally apply to genuinely commissioned or personalised artworks made specifically to your requirements.

Faulty, damaged or incorrectly described goods

All artworks must be as described and of satisfactory quality.

If an artwork is damaged in transit, faulty or materially different from its description, please contact me as soon as possible.

Where possible, please retain the packaging and provide photographs of the artwork and packaging so that I can investigate the damage and, where appropriate, make a claim with the delivery company.

Nothing in these Terms of Service limits your statutory consumer rights.

Copyright

Purchasing an original artwork transfers ownership of the physical artwork to the buyer.

It does not transfer copyright or reproduction rights in the artwork.

Unless separately agreed in writing, copyright and all reproduction rights remain with the artist.

The artwork may not be reproduced, commercially exploited, used to produce prints or products, or otherwise copied for commercial purposes without permission.

Personal information

Personal information supplied when placing an order will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy published on this website.

Changes to these terms

These Terms of Service may be updated from time to time.

The terms applying to an order are those in effect when that order is placed.

Statutory rights

Nothing in these Terms of Service or the Returns Policy is intended to exclude or restrict any consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted under UK law.
